Greetings to a new blog, which act as a knowledge provider, to all religious and not solely to Islam. Titled as Islah Wal Tajdid in addition to the notion of “ihya” (revival) according to al-Ghazali’s work, the vocabulary of Islamic sciences contains two concepts directly referring to the idea of “reform” and “renewal”. The term “tajdid” is highly frequent in contemporary Islamic literature (and has been so most particularly for the past 150 years): it literally means “renewal”( pembaharuan, atau Reformasi), or even “rebirth” and“ regeneration”. The verb root of this noun can be found in a famous hadith of the Prophet: “God will send this [Muslim] community, every hundred years, [someone/some people] who will renew their religion.
On the other hand, meaning of tajdid, is indeed to “re-form” constantly, to reform in the name of faithfulness. In short, there can be no faithfulness to Islamic principles through the ages without evolution, without reform, without a renewal of intelligence and understanding. It reminds me of Dr.Asri (ex mufti perlis) of bringing change in terms of mind and understanding of people perception in Islam.
Recently, kita dikejutkan dengan pengunaan kalimah Allah oleh non-muslim..followed by a series of church bombing..I would not touch on the Allah issue, as this can be understood by all people, they have their own understanding, different mind, their freedom to judge and decide which is true, or false or even condemn the used of word 'Allah'. The Lord also provided us with Quran (book of divine guidance and direction for mankind, and consider the original Arabic text to be the final revelation of God), and Prophet (Pbuh) guide us with his Sunnah&Al-hadith (words and deeds of the Islamic prophet Muhammad), to this issue, you be the judge..even we like it or not, don't try to mix it with our self-interest to achieve our own agenda or objective.
Question is, does the image of Islam (in Msia) will be damaged as what has happened during post of 9/11 ( in the US)?
